What Should You Look For In An IFS ERP Consultant?

What to look for in an IFS ERP Consultant

As with ERP consultants for other systems, the field is broad enough that not all candidates will be appropriate for what you need. It’s not uncommon on larger projects to have multiple consultants each working on a different aspect.

This makes it vitally important to create a clear job spec when you begin recruiting. An IFS functional consultant has extremely different training to a technical consultant, and will be useful to you in different situations.

Depending on your industry, you will find certain consultants have experience that’s much more valuable to you – while others may be benefit from a little more hybrid technical excellence.

Do you need a consultant to develop an implementation plan or put a training strategy in place? Will you need them to act as an interface and advocate with your implementation partner? Or would you prefer them to be able to provide on-the-ground support to your own staff while the project is ongoing?

Choosing IFS ERP Consultants

Once you have a business case built up, you’ll need to sift through the market to find your IFS ERP consultant candidates. This may seem like a simple task – after all, it’s surely a small market, right?

Unfortunately not. In fact, in 2020 alone the size of their partner ecosystem grew by 28%. With these extra partner companies came an increased demand for the system. So the market for consultants is huge, and the number of trained, expert consultants hasn’t grown at the same rate.

Finding qualified candidates who are free to start within any given hiring window is a genuine challenge. Without a network to support your search, there’s only so much that can be done.

Fortunately, there are specialists who can help with that – and with over fifteen years’ experience in the IFS market, IT Works Recruitment leads the pack. Our network of known candidates isn’t just a great start to your shortlist – it’s also a great asset in finding new candidates.

We work with our clients to ensure we understand their business cases and their office culture. We then pre-qualify candidates we find to ensure they can solve the problem and fit in with their colleagues-to-be. Why not get in touch – put us to the test and you’ll be very happy with the results!
