Navigating NetSuite (the Titles)

What Do the Job Titles Actually Mean

In the NetSuite recruitment market, we’re in an era where more and more advanced technical jargon is added to people’s job titles for whatever reason so I’m going to strip it back to basics. Here I’m going to be outlining the core titles that are involved in NetSuite implementations. I will  outline what their roles are to help NetSuite customers better understand what resource they may need.

Project Manager

Nice and simple, the person who is responsible for the successful delivery of the NetSuite project. Also can be a liaison point between your solution provider and the end client.

Functional Consultant

Present start to finish. Heavily involved with requirement gathering documenting business processes, converting these into a NetSuite solution through design and configuration. Other skills include development of reports, saved searches, workflows and user training.

Technical Consultant/NetSuite Developer

If you’re looking for a NetSuite solution/integration that’s quite complex and isn’t out of the box” but a process that is specific to your business, a developer might be what you need. SuiteScript is the coding language of NetSuite and these NetSuite Consultants are the people who know how to write with it.

Administrator

Responsible for the upkeep of NetSuite. Managing and resolving system queries from users, performing updates and basic customisation and configuration. Responsibilities also include new user set up and similar responsibilities to Functional NetSuite Consultants. This is however dependent on the experience of the Administrator and the size of the business.

If any of these specifications sounds like something you could make use of or if you are a NetSuite Specialist in any of these areas, get in touch.
