Salesforce Applications Manager

Northwest Lineman College (NLC), is seeking an experienced IT Applications Manager with an attention to detail, positive attitude and entrepreneurial mindset. The successful candidate will demonstrate high aptitude for technology, plus over-the-top business communication skills, which will enable them to provide exceptional customer service, along with an eagerness to learn new tools and technologies. This position supports the mission of IT with a unique skill:  They can translate tech-talk to real world executive level business language plus take customer requirements and translate back to tech-talk for the IT team.  The encumbent will know how the departments (i.e., accounting, marketing, HR, payroll, etc.) are affected by any change to the application(s) and vice versa. The candidate must have a record of success with multiple projects and/or operational requests that had be managed at once. This position reports to the Director of IT and takes general direction from other members of the IT team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for all enterprise applications (e.g. NetSuite, Salesforce) and develops multi-year application and technology roadmaps aligning to corporate strategy
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of the features of centrally-supported applications, coordinating vendor support, and working closely with other IT staff
  • Researches latest technology and applies it to current business operations and goals
  • Communicates “three ways to win” when discussing IT project recommendations
  • Works within the IT team to deliver the technology that supports NLC’s vision and presents a unified direction to all NLC employees
  • Translates business and user requirements into technical specifications and vice versa
  • Stays abreast of existing and emerging IT and industry trends and relevant business developments associated with current and new technologies
  • Understands all aspects of NLC business to enable aligning IT infrastructure and software with organizational strategy and senior leadership goals
  • Keeps current on new trends in educational technology and practices
  • Works with the internal Learning and Development department to provide expert training to NLC staff
  • Actively communicates and follows up with customers to analyze business processes and opportunities to apply technology to improve efficiencies



The success patterns for this position are:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i. e., IT, Computer Systems, Business Management, etc.) and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible information technology and business analysis experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Must have CRM or ERP experience as a System Analyst or Administrator in a team working directly with functional counterparts on requirements gathering and program specification and design
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience working in a cross functional business environment with all IT experience levels
  • Experience in SaaS administration and development directly affecting multiple departments
  • Cross functional experience with business leadership and level 1 technicians including outside technical resources
  • Industry certifications and memberships a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce and Netsuite, preferred
  • Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills
  • Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously
