eCommerce Project Manager

The role:

My client requires the development of a B2C eCommerce platform, enabling the launch of a direct to consumer offer, to ensure we deliver a best in class customer experience. We require a commercially savvy eCommerce Programme/Project Manager experienced in delivering an eCommerce platform within an omnichannel business.  You must be able to inspire a customer first mentality across the business, especially important as the technical/functional requirements must be defined by the customer strategy.  A hands-on approach is required along with the ability to think outside the box, work under pressure, as well as to tight deadlines, and be able to effectively manage stakeholders. Evidence of performance within a results driven environment is a must.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage vendor selection process and support in contract negotiation
  • Create programme implementation plan
  • SOW delivery
  • Manage approval process across all business functions
  • Day-to-day management of the programme, risk log and capex budget
  • Accountability for the end-to-end UX and CX
  • Draft new MO that is fit for an omnichannel operation
  • Lead internal UAT
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships across the ecommerce, marketing, IT, supply chain, commercial, operations and finance teams
  • Manage day to day vendor relationships



  • Ecommerce PMO experience  
  • Retail – ideally omnichannel experience
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach
  • Well experienced in vendor/3rd party management
  • Strong technical understanding of SEO
  • IT literate but not necessarily a “techie”
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics or another industry leading Web analytics package
  • Experience of Epicor eCommerce module is a nice to have, but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong ecommerce knowledge and understanding of its impact on other functions
  • Team player and effective communicator and influencer
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and react quickly when required
  • Problem solving skills are a must
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Simultaneously proactive and highly responsive
  • Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to work and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation across functions
  • The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, have a strategic viewpoint while being willing to get their hands dirty
